(Designed for the House of Rochas)
Spring-Summer 2005

What’s your image of “fashion”? Perhaps the stunning dress in the shop window, the unconventional styles in the street, or popular styles no longer worn.

Fashions make an era and are a fascination to many. Through around 156 exhibits on loan from the rich collection of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, this exhibition will explore the world of fashion and the process of creating icons of style - from design concept to runway and finished image.

The exhibition will feature pieces by John Galliano for Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Olivier Theyskens for Rochas, Alexander McQueen for Givenchy, Arnold Scaasi, and Christian Lacroix. Garments worn by Diana, Princess of Wales and Hollywood actresses as they walked the red carpet will also be featured in the exhibition along with modeling photographs and illustrations of Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, Madonna, and other celebrities.
